Men
gå under. Floke må ta saka i eigne hender, men korleis skal ein godlynt
liten sprett hindre den store undergangen?
I «Floke 3. Verdas ende» avsluttar teikneserieskapar Ida Eva Neverdahl
Som i dei to
stereotype vikingklisjear. Bok 3 byr på absurde situasjonar, humoristiske
karakterar og ei overraskande vending mot slutten.
The End is a concept album in different styles, a meditation on paying
attention, an abstracted autobiography and a metaphysical travelogue,
reflecting the progress of his struggle to reconcile the great upheaval of
a death, and to find a new life on the other side. The book blends Nilsen's
disparate styles, from iconic simplicity to collaged art to finely rendered
pieces.
This new edition of The End is substantially expanded and revised -- it is
almost twice as long as the original edition -- incorporating new work from
the past 15 years that adds greater perspective to an already intimate
window into the way we grieve, a process that can span decades. The new
material includes added content from the original sketchbooks, over a dozen
pages of new comics, a new afterword by the author, additional notes, and
over 20 pages of Cheryl Weaver's work.
Take flight to this post-apocalyptic utopia filled with birds. Long after the demise of humankind, birds roam freely around a new earth complete with fruitful trees, sophisticated fungal networks, and an enviable socialist order. The universal worm feeds all, there are no weekends, and economics is as fantastical a study as unicorn psychology. No concept of money or wealth plagues the thoughts of these free-minded birds. Instead, there are angsty teens who form bands to show off their best bird song and other youngsters who yearn to become clothing designers even though clothes are only necessary during war. (The truly honourable professions for most birds are historian and/or librarian.) These birds are free to crush on hot pelicans and live their best lives until a crash-landed human from the moon threatens to change everything. Michael DeForge s post-apocalyptic reality brings together the author s quintessential deadpan humour, surrealist imagination, and undeniable socio-political insight. Appearing originally as a webcomic, Birds of Maine follows DeForge s prolific trajectory of astounding graphic novels that reimagine and question the world as we know it. His latest comic captures the optimistic glow of utopian imagination with a late-capitalism sting of irony.
From the world of Robert Kirkman's The Walking Dead...
Clementine is back on the road,
looking to put her traumatic past behind her and forge a new path all her
own.
But when she comes across an Amish teenager
named Amos with his head in the clouds, the unlikely pair journeys North to
an
abandoned ski resort in Vermont, where they meet up with a small group
of
teenagers attempting to build a new, walker-free settlement.
As friendship, rivalry, and romance begin to
blossom amongst the group, the harsh winter soon reveals that the biggest
threat
to their survival...might be each other.
"Tillie Walden is the future.
Her boldly authentic voice brings new heights to the world of The Walking
Dead.
I couldn't be more proud of what she's doing with this series." --Robert
Kirkman

A biography in comics of the amazing rock singer Janis Joplin with the highlights of her journey from childhood after the Second World War to her abrupt death in late 1970. It is one of the most fabulous musical adventures in America of the second half of the twentieth century, yet it lasted only five years. How did a very young, messed up woman, a drug addict filled with doubt, become a planetary icon of rock music in a few years? Thanks to a worldwide movement of emancipation which would consecrate for a long time the ideals and modes of alternative lifestyles from counterculture to the flower power generation, Janis, the ugly duckling, gave free rein to her impulses. Fed by the thirst for freedom of the Beat Generation and the desire for emancipation expressed by American youth in the early 1960s, Janis Joplin left for San Francisco, the epicenter of cultural innovation. There, she abandoned herself to all impulses, overcoming without hesitation all the taboos of the time: bisexuality, alcohol, and drugs, doing so not only with delight, but with the taste for excess which came naturally from her spontaneous character.
A formative coming-of-age graphic memoir by the creator of Afro-punk: a
young man's immersive reckoning with identity, racism, clumsy teen love and
belonging in an isolated California desert, and a search for salvation and
community through punk.
Apple Valley, California, in the late eighties, a thirsty, miserable
desert.
Teenage James Spooner hates that he and his mom are back in town after
years away. The one silver lining-new school, new you, right? But the few
Black kids at school seem to be gangbanging, and the other kids fall on a
spectrum of micro-aggressors to future Neo-Nazis. Mixed race, acutely aware
of his Blackness, James doesn't know where he fits until he meets Ty, a
young Black punk who introduces him to the school outsiders-skaters,
unhappy young rebels, caught up in the punk groundswell sweeping the
country.
A haircut, a few Sex Pistols, Misfits and Black Flag records later:
suddenly, James has friends, romantic prospects, and knows the difference
between a bass and a guitar. But this desolate landscape hides brutal,
building undercurrents: a classmate overdoses, a friend must prove himself
to his white supremacist brother and the local Aryan brotherhood through a
show of violence. Everything and everyone are set to collide at one of the
year's biggest shows in town...
Weaving in the Black roots of punk rock and a vivid interlude in the
thriving eighties DIY scene in New York's East Village, this is the memoir
of a budding punk, artist, and activist.
Johnny Ryan's compulsion to flout any and all accepted standards of decency in his humor and cartoons have not only garnered him a tremendous following -- Instagram has banned him multiple times with hundreds of posts scrubbed from those accounts. (He can be found, currently, at @johnnyryanjohnnyryan1). Guess what? We've got 'em! Over 500 of the grossest, crudest, most surrealistic, scatological, and of course hilarious cartoons you'll ever see, presented with loving care in this gorgeous, oversized collection with fine art paper. They may not meet with your approval, but you will laugh. Crafted throughout the pandemic and posted daily, these cartoons helped keep both the author and hundreds of thousands of others sane during the past two years. From conventional gag cartoons to pieces decidedly unconventional and almost Dadaist in their humor, these are some of the most visually imaginative -- and comedically brilliant -- single-panel cartoons ever conceived, whether in the service of boner jokes or sheer visual absurdism.
energibehov.
- alt sammen formidlet i Karstein Volles unike tegnestil.

(less)
-Magnus William-Olsson, Aftonbladet
